 Cyclone Mocha: Heavy rains predicted across Bengal districts The very powerful cyclone Mocha, which hit Myanmar and Bangladesh coasts on Sunday, will now strike parts of several West Bengal districts. Though Bengal has been reported a safe zone from being largely affected by the cyclone, several northern and southern parts of the state will witness thunderstorms from May 16-20. According to Alipore Meteorological Department, rain is expected in north and south 24 Parganas and East Midnapore on Monday. Besides these districts, Nadia is also likely to receive rain on Tuesday. In addition, heavy rain is predicted in the entire South Bengal from Wednesday along with wind speed at 40 to 50 km per hour. The weather office also informed that thunderstorms may continue over South Bengal from Wednesday to Friday for three consecutive days.
