Two women arrested for trying to dispose of headless body in Ganges Kolkata, Feb 25 Two women were arrested on the banks of the Ganges in Kolkata's Kumartuli early Tuesday as they were trying to dispose of a trolley bag carrying the headless and chopped body of a woman in the river. The two women, mother and daughter, were identified as Falguni Ghosh and Aarati Ghosh. The woman, whose chopped and headless body had been recovered from within the trolley bag, is reportedly that of Sumita Ghosh, an elderly relative of the two arrested women. The arrested women are reportedly residents of Barasat in North 24 Parganas districts. An insider from the city police said they arrived at the Sealdah station from there by an early morning local train with that trolley bag and hired a cab to move around the city.            प्रसिद्ध गायक प्रतुल मुखर्जी ने ली अंतिम सांस!               प्रसिद्ध गायक प्रतुल मुखर्जी ने ली अंतिम सांस!  बंगाली संगीत जगत का एक और सितारा टूट गया है। दिवंगत गायक प्रतुल मुखर्जी। वे काफी समय से एसएसकेएम अस्पताल में भर्ती थे। और आज सुबह उन्होंने वहीं अंतिम सांस ली। न्यूज यूनिक इंडिया : बंगाली संगीत जगत का एक और सितारा टूट गया है। दिवंगत गायक प्रतुल मुखर्जी। वे काफी समय से एसएसकेएम अस्पताल में भर्ती थे। और आज सुबह उन्होंने वहीं अंतिम सांस ली। निधन के समय उनकी उम्र 83 साल थी। मशहूर गीतकार, संगीतकार और गायक प्रतुल मुखर्जी लंबे समय से गंभीर रूप से बीमार थे  फिर जब उनकी शारीरिक स्थिति और बिगड़ गई तो उन्हें एसएसकेएम अस्पताल में भर्ती कराया गया। अस्पताल में भर्ती होते ही मुख्यमंत्री ममता बनर्जी ने फोन पर उनकी खबर ली। और फिर 12 फरवरी को मुख्यमंत्री उन्हें देखने अस्पताल भी गईं। और आज सुबह उसी गायक ने अंतिम सांस ली। स्वाभाविक रूप से उनके निधन की खबर से संगीत जगत में शोक की छाया छा गई है।

गारुलिया लैलीननगर रब्बानी मस्जिद की तीसरी मंजिल की ढलाई का कार्य जारी, लोगों में हर्ष का माहौल ! सेख महफूज, पश्चिम बंगाल गारुलिया लैलीननगर रब्बानी मस्जिद के छत की ढलाई का कार्य आज निर्धारित समयानुसार शुरू कर दिया गया। ढलाई कार्य से पहले दुआ कराई गई, जिसके बाद जैसे ही निर्माण कार्य आरंभ हुआ, स्थानीय लोग बढ़-चढ़कर अपना सहयोग देते नजर आए। गौरतलब है कि इस मस्जिद का निर्माण कार्य काफी समय से चल रहा था, और आज इसकी छत की ढलाई का काम पूरे जोश के साथ जारी है। इस मौके पर मस्जिद के सचिव मुख्तार अहमद, सहायक सचिव शमीम अख्तर साहब और मस्जिद के खतीब व इमाम सिराज अहमद नूरी साहब ने सहयोग करने वाले सभी लोगों का दिल से शुक्रिया अदा किया। उन्होंने कहा कि मस्जिद के निर्माण में अपनी मेहनत की कमाई लगाना बहुत पुण्य का कार्य है, जिससे न केवल इस दुनिया में बरकत मिलती है, बल्कि अल्लाह तआला ऐसे नेक लोगों को आखिरत में भी ऊँचा मुकाम अता फरमाते हैं। पूरे क्षेत्र में इस कार्य को लेकर खुशी का माहौल है, और लोग इसे एक ऐतिहासिक क्षण मानकर गर्व महसूस कर रहे हैं।                  ...

Ajay Thakur replaces Alok Rajoria as new CP of Barrackpore Kolkata: Within 24 hours after the murder of a Trinamool Congress (TMC) worker at Naihati in North 24-Parganas came to light, the Commissioner of Police of Barrackpore Commissionerate was re-moved. An order from the state administration released on Saturday has named Ajay Kumar Thakur as the Commissioner replacing the incumbent Alok Rajoria. Naihati comes under the jurisdiction of Barrack-pore Commissionerate. Thakur who was serving as the DIG of state Correctional Services and had earlier served as Joint Commissioner (crime) in the Barrackpore Commissionerate has been asked to take charge as the CP. Rajoria has been given the charge of DIG Traffic at Bengal Police. IPS officer Raj Narayan Mukhopadhyay has been removed from his position as SP (Traffic) and has been assigned the charge of CO (Commanding Officer) of the Second Battalion.
